First Prenatal Check Up

Supposedly i've made an appointment on Sunday morning, but today morning, hubby said he's going over to Penang so might as well drop me for my check up. I called Adventist and they said it's alright to drop by around 11a.m so i reach there by 11a.m and found out that Dr. Soon went for an emergency c-section.

I waited around 45mins and by that time hubby already finished his work and came over to accompany me.

My first impression on Dr. Soon is that he's very good looking middle age man and as others have said he's gentle as well. He first asked a few question regarding my previous pregnancy and help me calculate on my due date which falls on May 13 2012. He explain in details, how the due date is calculated and let me know that he will do an ultra sound to confirm the baby is in place and if we're lucky we can see the baby's heartbeat.

First he used a standard ultrasound to check on me but we cannot see any sac in my uterus so he suggested that we try transvagina ultrasound. I agree to it and we still can't see any sac in my uterus. He said there might be 3 possibilities when this occur.

1. I'm not pregnant at all.
2. Too early in the pregnancy.
3. Ectopic pregnancy.

He checked on my right side ovary and he said that the ovum has been released and confirm there's no cyst on my both ovaries. Everything seems normal. To confirmed my pregnancy and hcg level he suggest that me to take a blood test and the result will be out in few hours.

Finally i received a call from Dr. Soon around 4p.m telling me that i'm indeed pregnant but my hcg level is only 879 which is why it's still too early to see any sign of my little one. Once the hcg level reach 1500 we shall able to see it so he appoint me to see him on Oct 9 2011 for my next check up. Hopefully by that time, we able to see a healthy little baby inside me.
